Derek Ginoris, Georgetown University

Jordan George, American University
We are excited to launch our first Italian Legacy Research Grant program with two great summer opportunities for undergraduate or graduate students, who attend accredited schools within 75 miles of Washington, D.C., or who have a permanent residence within that area.
1. One is a $5,000 grant to conduct independent research and write papers for our virtual Archives and for our Voce Italiana bilingual community newspaper during this summer.
2. The second is a $5,000 summer internship in museum studies. Working closely with the director and curator of our Italian American Museum of Washington DC (IAMDC), you will have a chance to get hands-on experience in collections and database management, curating, marketing and general museum management.
Applicants must be enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate college or university within 75 miles of Washington, D.C., or have a permanent residence within that area. The selected student must have an excellent academic record, strong communications skills and an enthusiasm for the Italian heritage and culture. Our Italian Legacy program furthers our mission to preserve, showcase and promote contributions made by Italians and Italian Americans in the Washington, D.C. area.
