The Synagogue move is on January 9

We hope you can join next Wednesday, January 9 for the big move!  We will have warm drinks and donuts available at our future neighbor, Casa Italiana, and a klezmer band providing a fun soundtrack to the move.  We also will be taking an aerial group photo right before the press conference to commemorate the occasion.

Updated timeline:

9 am Rabbi blesses building before move (3rd/G St. NW) 9:45 am Move begins down 3rd Street 10-11 am Coffee, cappuccinos and klezmer at Casa Italiana with collections objects on display 10:45 am Synagogue expected to begin three-point turn (!) onto F St. 11 am Aerial group photo near 3rd and F St. 11:30 am Press conference with Senator Chuck Schumer, NEH Chairman Jon Parrish Peede, DC Council Member Jack Evans and other leaders 12 pm Press conference complete as building moves onto new foundation

Please be advised: 

3rd Street NW will be closed to traffic beginning at 9:30amthe Judiciary Square metro station entrance on F Street, NW is closed until April 2019.  Customers will have access to the station via two elevators at the street level by the National Building Museum and the escalators and stairs at the 4th Street entrance by the US and DC Courthouses.
